Throughout the day, life is full of noise.
Sure, there's the obvious noise - people, media, machines...
But there's also the noise inside - thoughts, to-do lists, expectations...
Every now and then, I need a break from the noise. I need a space where I can just BE.
Unwind, unplug, de-stress.
Yesterday morning, our 5-month old wonderboy Luke woke us up around 5AM. It was one of those mornings where you're supposed to let him cry until his normal wake-up time. Anyway, after an hour of trying not to hear him cry, I went for a walk.
Even though I left my iPod shuffle at church on accident, I still went for a walk.
A 50-minute walk.
It was great. Just to walk. Just to think. Just to talk to God and not feel rushed about it. Or just think about God and ask Him what He wants me to do this week.
Our lives are so programmed by the schedule, the pressures, and the noise. When was the last time you just went for a walk?
